Child Abuse begins.......

If I knew the answer to that one. Does it begin when we first start to raise our voices demanding behavioral perfection from the child. Maybe when we tell them that their dreams are unattainable because we couldn't or don't know anyone who has accomplished that dream. Or is it when we make them start to feel like "oh by the way items" when something more important has our attention or when we buy them the Xbox instead of My baby can read. These things may sound more trivial than the physical or sexual molestation, but just like those they can create low self esteem or feelings of "less than and not good enough" in a child. If one child can do something. Than God has not created another that cannot do the same thing. They may have to work harder, but they can do it. Parental or environmentally created low self esteem is the only thing that makes the former impossible. Where does it BEGIN?
REMEMBER: Banks and Children if you don't put anything in. Don't expect to get anything out.

The Resurrection applies.....

Somewhere right now a Christian is taking his or her last drink. Their self-will is being reduced to a manageable level. They have stopped reading and repeating scripture and have started to study the Bible to show themselves approved. The teachings and Spirit of Jesus Christ have started to become the Substance of their faith. Things that were taken to heart and put between their relationship with Our Father are being removed. The process of a personal salvation has begun. A resurrection into a born again/new life if you will. Happy Easter weekend.

Good old days

We were on fb last night remembering the good ole days as kids and the differences between today's children. Their xboxes, their sense of self entitlement to eat what they want. Tell their parents no. Reject playing outside for the comfort of inside play and staying in adult faces. I was thinking as elders. If the way our parents raised us is still in our spirits. Than in a sense they are not old, but waiting to be applied by today's parents of infants. They already know that raising your kids as "Oh by the way items" and pacifying them with video games, etc. doesn't work! They may be tired of hearing the stories of how we were raised, but we need to keep telling them for constructive suggestion.

Feeding my spirit!

I feel no self righteousness in being saved or the process. I feel grace and mercy. A sense of "there but for God go I". I didn't do a lot to deserve still being here, but I sure plan on doing somethings too hold this peace and contentment. This is my effort to put a smile in your heart. Now you water it. Because there's plenty of sunshine to grow it. One Love.

 

PERFECT SPIRIT

There is a perfect spirit inside of me. A Holy Spirit if you will. I have known it was there since I was a little boy. I didn't know at that time it was my essence. I didn't know that through my struggles with my addiction of MORE. That the spirit was what stopped me from becoming a bad person. Now don't get me wrong. I did plenty of BAD things to myself and others. Situations and circumstances put me a in spot where little by little I started to listen to that Holy Spirit. I started to follow the teachings and Spirit of Jesus Christ on a individual basis. More often than not these days. My spirit tells my mind what to do and the order is passed on to my body. I'm very grateful this morning and want and want to break off a piece of that gratitude to all my family and friends. God loves us all. No matter our present station in life.

Working out?

For the folks that see me walking the hood on my 3 to 4 mile walks regularly and wonder why? For this old man exercise helps me increase my self esteem. At the same time it helps increase my humility when I understand that this flesh can only do so much. There are other reasons I would love to share, but cha gotta join me first!

PIMPIN' & TRICKIN'

Young folks. As long as your favorite topic is you. You will always be buying and someone will be selling you something you don't need and a lot of times don't want. Old salesman knowledge ya hear! Research and think about it. Only your peaceful and purposeful existence depend on your choice.

ULTIMATE AUTHORITY

So grateful that at my age I still fall short of the man God wants me to be. Otherwise there would be no need for an ultimate authority in my life(God/belief system). My driver would be Self-Will(talking bout road rage). There would also be no need to discover and understand my spiritual talent of perseverance -steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles,or discouragement. Am I like most people doing the best I can today with what I have to operate(tools) with?

I'M A GROWN MAN

If I make the statement. "I'm a grown man". Who am I really trying to convince. Men recognize men. Women recognize men and even children recognize MEN.  We grown men are coming up short in our relationships with ourselves, women and families. Is it a selfish thing or a self will thing?

POWER

I use to think I had the power to change how other people thought and acted. That was an illusion. I did have the power of manipulation and foolery.  I've since accepted that just like me. People are right where they are supposed to be in their journey of life. I can either accept it and have their back so to speak or move around. Allowing them to go through what they need. Because in the end. It's all for the betterment.
